GETTING YOUR LICENSE WITH US! THE ENTIRE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS
All students who graduate from our program will have a solid foundation of driving skills that will contribute to a lifetime of confidence and responsible driving. Texas Website
Below is the step-by-step process of completing the behind-the-wheel drives with A+ Driving Academy. Every driving school has its own method and steps.
Teen Learners Permit Course:
- 32 state-required hours
- We conduct thorough Zoom with an instructor for 3 weeks Monday-Friday.
- On the 16th day (last day) which is a Monday students will be required to take the permit exam in person at our Rolling Oaks Mall or Cibolo (across the street from Steele) location.
- Get DE-964 permit certificate to take to your dps appt. to receive permit.
Teen State Behind the Wheel Drives
- 7/7 hours of driving behind the wheel with our instructors in our vehicles equipped with instructor brakes.
- No more than 1 hour a day.
- Get DE-964 DPS copy for the license certificate.
- Receive certificate discounts for participating insurance companies.
Teen Road Test
Ages 16 to 17 Road Test Qualifications:
- After holding your Texas permit for 6 months you are eligible for the road test.
- Must watch a two-hour video: Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) within 90 days of the driving test date and print the certificate.
- After successfully passing the road test you will take all paperwork to your DPS to get your provisional license.
Adults
- Must already have your adult permit (license with B restriction on the back).
- You may take private lessons with us.
Adult Road Test
Ages 18 to Adult Road Test Qualifications:
- Must have a valid adult Texas permit.
- Watch a 1-hour video: Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) within 90 days of the driving test date and print the certificate.
- After successfully passing the road test you will take all paperwork to your DPS to get your provisional license.
